O, Boy, so much to say about a great place to take a family vacation. The Dells is known for the amount of water parks, but we found great places to hike, eat, and even found the #1 Supper Club in Wisconsin..
Our first day we started off to Devil's Lake to hike up to Balanced Rock. On the way, we found the previous home to the Ringling Brothers in a little town named Baraboo. They were having a street fair, so, we had to stop.
When we got to Devil's Lake, we were treated to the best hike we have been on yet. Medium difficulty on the hiking scale, it was a rocky strenuous climb, up to a very large rock that was balanced on another rock, as the name suggests.
In the touristy middle of the Dells, there is a really interesting lunch destination that has a half dozen or so Food Trucks all nestled inside a building with a nice fun area outside.
We were on the way to see one of Frank Lloyd Wright's home, Taliesin, which we were not able to see due to CovID, we found Mirror Lake. As we were trying to find a place to chill on Mirror Lake, we ran across Ishnala Supper Club. We had no idea what it was, but come to find out, it is an awesome upscale dining experience that has the BEST Old Fashioned in Wisconsin and was the place for the filming of Public Enemy, one of Johnny Depp's movies.
Old Fashioned = Definitely the BEST
